Questions

The things people ask us most, answered properly. Our booking terms are further down the page.

Do I need to book my tattoo, and how?

It is best to book in. Any significant tattoo needs a booking so we can organise your time slot and the most appropriate artist for the style. For basic work such as lettering, linework or minimal designs, come in during business hours, 11am to 7pm, and we will do our best to fit you in. To book, tell us your design idea as a description or a reference image, where on the body it is going, the position if it is a sleeve, the size measurements if it is a single piece, and your preferred dates. A deposit secures the booking and we accept several payment methods.

What kind of tattoos can you do?

Just about everything. Realistic, fine line, traditional, black and grey, colour, geometric, ornamental, dotwork, abstract, mandala, oriental and Japanese, Maori, tribal, Polynesian, blackout, lettering, micro, hyper-realistic, anime, Balinese, neo-traditional, chicano and minimal work, plus touch-ups, full sleeves, half sleeves and full back pieces. If you want something not on that list, ask us.

How much do you charge?

We generally charge per piece, which is why we need to know what you want, where it is going and what size. With that we can give you a rough quote and a time estimate. We charge by the hour on certain occasions and will tell you at the consultation. Our minimum charge is Rp 1,400,000, around A$110. The final price depends on size, detail, style and location on the body.

Where are you located?

Jalan Patih Jelantik No. 204 X, Legian, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, Indonesian bank transfer, credit card online, PayPal, in-store credit and debit card, and Wise. Exchange rates are calculated at the rate on the day with our local money exchange, BMC. All fees are based on Indonesian rupiah.

What are your business hours?

We are open seven days a week, Monday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm. We work into the night for booked customers to finish a job. Closures are always announced on Google and our social media.

What is your phone number?

WhatsApp +62 813-5301-0662. Our availability to take phone calls is limited, so WhatsApp chat is the best option.

Do tattoos hurt?

Yes. Quite literally we are stabbing you thousands of times a minute with multiple needles. Keep in mind that thousands of people get tattooed every day and they all survive. Done correctly, a tattoo feels more like a burning sensation or discomfort than sharp pain. Different areas of the body hurt more than others and sensitivity can vary even within a small area.

How do I care for my new tattoo?

We wrap your new tattoo in either tattoo repairing film or standard cling wrap. Keep repairing film on for 24 hours. Keep cling wrap on for at least an hour. Take a normal shower and let the tattoo rinse for at least 30 seconds. Wash with a mild liquid soap no more than twice a day, pat dry with a clean towel or tissues, then apply a tattoo aftercare product two to five times a day to stop it drying out and cracking. Stay out of pools, jacuzzis, lakes, ponds and the ocean for the first two weeks. Keep it clean and do not touch it with dirty hands. Keep it out of the sun while healing, and use sunscreen on it once healed to keep the colour crisp. If you have questions about how it is healing, contact us.

Do I get to choose my artist?

Of course, subject to that artist's availability. The artists are not all here every day and we cannot promise to fit everyone in on a particular day. We will always aim to match you with the best artist for your design style.

Can I fix an old or bad tattoo?

Yes. Our artists have years of experience in cover-ups, restorations and touch-ups. Bring the piece in and we will tell you at the consultation exactly what it takes. Most things come up better than people expect. If you got the tattoo from us and have cared for it properly but it has lost some ink, our artists guarantee their work and will touch it up free of charge.

Can you help me design my tattoo?

Yes. Our artists design freehand, on paper, or on a computer or tablet. Bring in an image you like and have it transformed into something you love. Our artists work on their designs on the day of the tattoo, so you get to talk to them directly about design and placement and make changes.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Our front entrance is a ramp that allows for easy access.

Things worth knowing

Tattoo fading on feet, hands and other areas

Feet, hands, knees, fingers, toes, wrists and ankles are areas where tattoos are more prone to fading and may not heal as well as tattoos in other locations. The skin in these areas is often thinner, more exposed to the elements, and subject to more wear and movement. This can result in faster fading, blurred lines, or incomplete healing. Aging skin carries a similar consideration.

Because of the constant movement and pressure on these areas, touch-ups may be needed to maintain the appearance over time. We recommend discussing placement with your artist so you have a clear understanding of the likely outcome.

Fine line tattoos

Fine line tattoos carry different considerations from work done with regular-sized needles. The tiny needles create smaller punctures and deposit less ink, which can affect healing and may lead to reduced colour depth or visibility compared with standard needles.

As a result, fine line work may fade sooner and touch-ups could be needed to maintain the look. We recommend discussing this with your artist so you are fully informed before proceeding.

Proper aftercare

Following the aftercare instructions during healing is what gives you the best result. Proper aftercare, including keeping the tattoo clean, moisturised and protected from direct sunlight and friction, is essential for good healing and colour retention.

We recommend reading our aftercare guide and following all instructions carefully.

Booking terms

Price agreement

We will give you the most accurate quote possible based on the information you give us. In some cases that is an exact price, in others a price range.

The original price or price range we quoted online stays exactly the same if we do the tattoo exactly as discussed. If the tattoo changes in size or design at consultation we adjust the price accordingly. Smaller or less complex means cheaper. Bigger or more complex may increase it. Where we have quoted for an average size person and you are considerably smaller or larger, we adjust once we can see you in person.

All designs and prices are assessed for changes to the original agreement and confirmed with you before the tattoo starts.

Deposit

A deposit locks in your booking slot. Tattoos from Rp 1,400,000 to Rp 1,800,000 require a Rp 500,000 deposit. Tattoos from Rp 1,900,000 to Rp 3,000,000 require a Rp 1,000,000 deposit. All tattoos above Rp 3,000,000 require a Rp 3,000,000 deposit per day booked.

If you pay a deposit by bank transfer, allow 2 to 5 working days for it to arrive. If it has not been received before your tattoo is finished we will need to charge in full, and we refund the deposit once it arrives.

If you book multiple days we request Rp 3,000,000 per day, held to lock each day in separately. For pre-design tattoos we ask for 50% of the total price to create the design before the in-person consultation.

Pay as you go

For multi-day bookings we ask for payments to stay ahead of the tattoo's progress each day, so at no stage have we done more work than you have paid for. That is met either by paying in full at the end of the first day or with daily progress payments.

Progress payments are calculated by dividing the total price by the number of days, minus one day's deposit of Rp 3,000,000, rather than the total deposit.

If you pay your balance by bank transfer the payment can be delayed. International transfers cannot be accepted for balance payments on the day of your tattoo because of the multi-day delay. Some Australian bank transfers have a 24 hour hold, so if that may apply please choose another payment option or pay your balance 24 hours ahead. If a payment is delayed once the tattoo is complete we will ask you to pay by another method, and refund you once the funds arrive.

Pre-design

A pre-design is a design requested by the client to be completed before the booking date. We prefer to design after an in-person consultation, because online communication can cause delays in the design process and some clients change their minds by the time they arrive.

For pre-design tattoos we ask for a 50% deposit to start. To create one we need a clear description of the placement, size, whether it is black and grey or colour, design references, a design description, the style, and anything else the artist will need.

We are happy to make revisions to get it right. We cannot change the design entirely if you change your mind, which would mean starting again and charging for the artist's time so far, so please be sure about the concept before committing.

Cancellation policy

All bookings are final and deposits are not refundable. Cancellations and reschedules are a genuine hassle for our bookings, some of which are made over a year in advance. If you do need to cancel there is no need to worry about losing your deposit, as we will hold it for a rescheduled date. Tattoo prices may change in future, so we may need to reassess the price.

If you need to reschedule, tell us more than 5 days in advance and we will hold your deposit for a date that works better. If you cancel within 5 days of the scheduled date we charge a reschedule fee of 50% of your daily deposit, because we make arrangements and may have turned down other guests to accommodate your booking.

If you start your tattoo but cannot finish on time because you need too many breaks or ask to stop, we still need to charge the full booking price, and we are happy to reschedule your session for another date. At that stage the design is complete and the slot was allocated to you, so please consider carefully how much you book in one go.

Over schedule and delays

A tattoo can take longer than anticipated because of design complexity or other factors. Where the delay is ours, we simply work the additional time required, and we will do our best to accommodate you if an extra day is needed.

Please avoid creating delays yourself, which risks the tattoo not being completed within schedule. Common ones are applying numbing cream during the session and waiting for it to take effect, arriving late, a long lunch break, and frequent breaks. If you use numbing cream, apply it one hour before the appointment, which we can help with, then reapply at lunchtime if needed.

If delays mean the tattoo cannot be completed in time you may need to reschedule at an additional cost, which can be difficult when our bookings are full.

Promotions and discount codes

To book with a discount code we require a 50% deposit based on the approximate quote. Codes are valid only for the period stated on the promotion, cannot be applied to bookings already made, and cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or promotions.

Christmas tattoo vouchers are paid in full. If paid in Australian dollars we convert to rupiah using Bali's exchange rate at BMC on the day of the transaction. For quoted designs the quote remains unchanged for 12 months. Balances can be paid after the tattoo is completed if there is a price difference. Refunds are not possible, though the difference in value can be held against a future tattoo.
