Coverup Tattoos | Before & After
Covering old work is a different discipline rather than a different style. Before and after, so you can see what is actually possible.
15 pieces from the Legian studio
A cover-up is designed around what is already there. The artist is working with real constraints, using dark values, flow and strong contrast to pull the eye somewhere new, and the new design has to be chosen to suit the shape of the old one rather than the other way around.
That is why we ask to see the piece before quoting. Some old tattoos come up far better than people expect, especially if they have faded. Others need a session of laser lightening first to open up the options, and we will tell you honestly which situation you are in.
Our artists have a great deal of experience here, partly because of the number of cheap studios on the island. Restorations and touch-ups sit in this gallery too, including older work that has simply lost some of its punch and needs bringing back.
Bring in the piece you want covered and we will tell you at the consultation exactly what it takes. Every photograph in this gallery shows the before alongside the after.
