Colour Tattoos

Anything from a soft wash to full saturation, packed properly with imported professional pigment so it stays rich for years.

17 pieces from the Legian studio

Colour asks more of an artist than anything else on the wall. Pigment has to be packed into the skin properly and evenly or it will not hold its depth, and every colour behaves differently on every skin tone. Done by someone who works in colour every week, the result carries an energy nothing else matches.

This gallery spans neo-traditional, new school, comic and cartoon work, colour realism and Japanese pieces in full colour. Some are bright and graphic with heavy black holding the shapes together. Others are soft and painterly with colour doing the drawing itself.

We use imported professional inks, sealed until the moment they are used and decanted into single-use caps. That matters more in colour than anywhere else, because weak or diluted pigment is invisible on day one and obvious three years later.

Colour is also the style people most often come back to extend. A single piece becomes a half sleeve, then a sleeve, because once you have one area reading in full colour the rest of the arm starts to look empty.
